Jack Teixeira: US airman formally charged over leaking Pentagon documents // A US airman accused of leaking classified defence documents online has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the state of Massachusetts. Jack Teixeira, 21, faces six counts of retaining and transmitting classified information on a gaming website. He was arrested at his Massachusetts home in April but was not formally charged until Thursday. He remains in custody pending his trial. The young Air National Guardsman faces decades in prison if convicted.
Boris Johnson faces calls to pay back £245,000 Partygate legal bill // Boris Johnson should pay back the public money used to cover a £245,000 bill for his lawyers during the Partygate inquiry, opposition MPs say. An inquiry by MPs found the former prime minister had deliberately misled Parliament over lockdown parties. The top lawyers defending Mr Johnson were paid for with taxpayer funds. Labour says Prime Minister Rishi Sunak should demand Mr Johnson "pays back every penny" of public money used to fund his legal defence.
Calls for Nicola Sturgeon to be suspended from SNP following arrest // First Minister Humza Yousaf should consider suspending Nicola Sturgeon from the SNP if she refuses to resign, a former minister has said. MSP Ash Regan called for "decisive action" after Ms Sturgeon was arrested by police and released without charge on Sunday as part of an investigation into SNP finances. The former party leader said she was "innocent of any wrongdoing".
Harry and Meghan: Spotify ends podcast deal with couple // Spotify has ended its lucrative deal with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the couple to produce podcasts. A joint statement from Harry and Meghan's company and the streaming giant said they had "mutually agreed to part ways". Spotify confirmed it was not renewing Meghan's podcast Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes from August 2022, for a second series. The contract was estimated to be worth $25m (£18m) in late 2020.

She also lived through the HIV crisis of the 1980s, during which she lost 34 friends.

Welsh Rugby: Review found sexist treatment of women by WRU // Concerns female rugby players in Wales may have faced "unfavourable treatment" were highlighted to the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) two years before sexism allegations were revealed by BBC Wales. Extracts of the 2021 independent review have been published as part of a Senedd report that found "systemic failures in the culture of the WRU". Allegations of sexism and racism were uncovered in January. The WRU said the report had led to a "great deal" of change.
USA v Mexico: Four players sent off and game paused for homophobic chanting // Four players were sent off and the game was paused because of homophobic chants as the United States beat Mexico 3-0 in the Concacaf Nations League semi-final. Chelsea's Christian Pulisic scored twice and Riccardo Pepi added a third for the US in the highly charged match. Mexico's Cesar Montes - for kicking Arsenal's Folarin Balogun - and Gerardo Arteaga were dismissed along with US duo Weston McKennie and Sergino Dest. The match was paused near the end because of homophobic chanting.
Tori Bowie: American three-time Olympic medallist died from complications in childbirth // American sprinter Tori Bowie died from complications in childbirth, her agent has said. Bowie, who won 4x100m relay gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016, plus 100m silver and 200m bronze, died at her home in Florida in May at the age of 32. Her agent Kimberly Holland told CBS News that speculation over Bowie's death had been "very hurtful". According to an autopsy report obtained by USA Today Sports, the manner of former 100m world champion Bowie's death was ruled "natural". The report said she was estimated to be eight months pregnant and undergoing labour at the time of her death.
Nationwide latest lender to raise mortgage rates again // Nationwide will become the latest lender to raise mortgage rates again, with increases of up to 0.7 percentage points taking effect on Friday. The building society, one of the UK's biggest lenders, said that the changes were being made to ensure it could serve all its customers. Another lender, Clydesdale Bank, said it was withdrawing deals via brokers later on Thursday owing to high demand.

Plans to turn Omega Works warehouses into luxury flats in Harringay, north London, mean many creatives who live there could lose homes and livelihoods. Caitlin Strongarm, who set up the Save the Warehouses campaign, called the development "social cleansing".
Sainsbury's and Asda told not to block rival stores // Sainsbury's and Asda have been told to stop using "unlawful" land agreements to prevent rivals from opening stores near their own shops. The move may have reduced consumer choice of groceries and access to cheaper prices, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said. Asda and Sainsbury's played down the breaches, saying they had been "technical" and not harmed consumers. The regulator previously reprimanded Tesco and Waitrose for similar actions.
