Good afternoon team,
Here is your community update for this week.
Internally, we are finalising plans to start expanding our team in the new year. We will be looking for new full-time staff, freelancers and volunteers to join so please keep an eye out for those opportunities when they present themselves.
Every December, we give our team a two-week break between the 19th and the 2nd of January. We will still release content during this time but you may notice a drop in consistency and so on.

1) We were invited to The Civic Journey Symposium
This was a closed event, bringing a select group of highly innovative thinkers together to share ideas, and work together to propose policy change, new pathways, and structures of support around young people and civic engagement. Attending was Lord Blunket and representatives from a range of organisations working in the area of youth work.

Sickle cell disease is the fastest growing genetic disorder in the UK - mostly affecting people of Black heritage yet Black people are the least likely to give blood.
Our founder sat down with Bukola Bolarinwa to talk about her journey living with Sickle Cell and the organisation she found to encourage more people to Give blood.

4) Our event for creatives is tomorrow
Our networking event and launch of The Detail: Creativity as a tool of change is tomorrow there are some tickets left.
Our aim is to help everyone who attends build authentic connections with other people which in turn may lead to more collaboration down the line! We aim to have our studio filled with creative energy and good vibes so bring your energy and creativity with you.

Some of us are close to the minimum weight requirement and know small donors who have gotten sick from donating blood. Getting sick and tired for a couple of days isn’t very motivating to donate.
